This was delightfully fun to plan and a great way to test how committed we were to the oversized collar trend. Turns out we love it and we’re already planning a shirt with this collar… maybe even a dress?! The pattern is available as a PDF, which is great if you don’t speak German and need to run a few of the instructions through Google Translate!

Pattern — Sigrun Collar by Juni Design x By Moogli
Fabric — 60cm of Early Hours Midweight Cotton in Fog
Size — 40 (available sizes 34–44)
Thread — Gütterman 1
Notions — interfacing, button (if not tying the collar)
Alterations — Instead of fastening the collar with a button, we made two self-fabric ties and attached them before lining each of the collar halves.

This was a fairly straightforward make, even though we accidentally missed cutting the ruffle pattern pieces on the fold, oops! Seeing the influx of ruffles, gathers and frills around at the moment, we’ve been contemplating purchasing a gathering foot for our machines… have you tried one out?
